WHAT IS CHAPARRAL?
Chaparral, also known as Mediterranean shrub, is a semi-arid shrubland biome that is characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. WHERE CAN I FIND IT? Chaparrals tend to be located in the middle latitudes, from 30° to 50° N and 30° to 40° S. This includes California, Mediterranean Sea, west coast of Australia, west coast of South America, and parts of South Africa. |
